Diagnosis and disease management in vegetable and field crops.
Primary interests include pathogen biology and disease management. Research emphasis is on the integration of cultural and chemical practices with alternative strategies, such as biopesticides, for suppression of diseases in field and vegetable crops. Also of interest are pathogenic Fusarium species. Current research projects include studies on the biology and management of Fusarium canker of hop, crown and stalk node rot of corn, white mold of snap bean as well as evaluating grower fields for emerging or exotic pathogens such as Hop stunt viroid and Barley yellow dwarf virus.
