Environmental Health Sciences Center Outreach

 General Information

It is the mission of the Outreach Core:

•> To increase knowledge regarding environmental influences on human health among the academic community, educators, health professionals and the lay public;

•> To facilitate appreciation of the fundamental concepts of relative risk and scientific methods for risk assessment among scientists, teachers, health professionals and the public;

•> To translate the research results of the Center into knowledge that can be applied to public health;

•> To educate scientists and the public of the usefulness of aquatic species in assessing environmental risks and in clarifying the mechanisms by which environmental factors can benefit or adversely impact human health;

•> To increase awareness among scientists and the public of the resources available through the OSU MFBS Center and the NIEHS;

•> To provide expertise for the solution of local environmental health problems.
