Nov-Dec Review “Self-Assessment” to determine if you are ready to apply; start planning for the MCAT; visit http://www.aamc.org/ and http://www.aacom.org/ ; get health care and community service experience over winter break. Read broadly!
Nov 22 Kaplan MCAT Review course starts in Corvallis

January-June Attend Application Seminar. Meet with Chief Premedical Advisor and your own Premedical Advisor to open your premedical file (deadline: June 19). Begin asking early for letters of recommendation (due June15). Research schools, review prerequisites, work on personal statement.
January 13 Kaplan MCAT Review course starts in Corvallis

Jan 30, 31 MCAT administered
Mar 28 MCAT administered
Apr 4,18,24 MCAT administered
April-May AMCAS and AACOMAS applications available on web.
May 1,2,22,28 MCAT administered
June (early) Earliest date to submit AMCAS or AACOMAS.
Mid-June Request ALL transcripts be sent to AMCAS or AACOMAS.
June 15 Letters of recommendation due date. It is your responsibility to call the College of Science office
(541-737-4811) to check on your letters.
June 18 MCAT administered
June 19  Deadline to complete the Premed Committee application, which opens your Premed File. Meet with Chief Premedical Advisor and your own Premedical Advisor for interviews. Bring this completed packet, plus a tentative list of schools and your personal statement (rough draft is ok). Once the signed forms are turned in to the College of Science, your premedical file is officially open. Refer to www.science.oregonstate.edu/node/127
July-Sept  Students receive secondary applications; Committee Letters sent/uploaded for those students with complete files and MCAT scores; students need to keep in contact with advisor regarding letters.

EARLY August  Best to have submitted AMCAS/AACOMAS application by now- Really!
Sept 3,4,10,12 MCAT administered
Aug-April 2010 Students interview, and receive offers of admission or rejection notices or, quite commonly, are put on hold.
May 15, 2010 Students will know if they have been accepted, rejected, or wait-listed, and after this date applicants may not hold more than one seat at a med school.
Note: earlier deadlines are in effect this year, in response to medical schools’ wishes, especially those of OHSU.  It is in the applicant’s best interest to complete everything as early as possible. It really, REALLY does make a difference! Reapplicants must meet the same deadlines!

 Remember, LATE=REJECT OR ALTERNATE!
