|Nov-Jan||MCAT review courses bagin (Kaplan, U of Oregon and Altius)|
Attend Application Seminar. Meet with Chief Premedical Advisor and your own Premedical Advisor to open your premedical file (deadline: June 3); Begin asking for letters of recommendation (due June 15). Research schools, review prerequisites, work on personal statement.
|April-May||AMCAS and AACOMAS applications open on web.|
|May 6,14,20||MCAT administered|
||Deadline to complete the Premed Committee application, which opens your Premed File. Meet with Chief Premedical Advisor and your own Premedical Advisor for interviews. Bring this completed packet, a tentative list of schools, list of activities and your personal statement to the meetings. Once the signed forms are received, your premedical file is officially open. |June (early)||Earliest date to submit AMCAS or AACOMAS|
||Request ALL transcripts be sent to AMCAS or AACOMAS.|
Due date for all letters of recommendation. It is your responsibility to monitor the status of your letters via your web link.
Your file must be complete at this time (see checklist).
|July-Sept||Students receive secondary applications; Committee Letters uploaded for those students with complete files and MCAT scores; students need to keep in contact with advisor regarding letters.|
|July 15||Need to have submitted AMCAS/AACOMAS application by now- Really!!!|

|Sept-April 2017||Students interview and receive offers of admission or rejection notices or, quite commonly, are put on hold for months.|
|Apr 30, 2017||Students will know if they have been accepted, rejected, or wait-listed, and after this date applicants may not hold more than one seat at a med school.|
Note: It is in the applicant’s best interest to complete everything as early as possible.
It really does make a difference to be early, especially this year when it is so competitive!
Reapplicants must meet the same deadlines!
Remember, LATE = REJECT OR ALTERNATE!
