   Review “Self-Assessment” to determine if you are ready to apply.

   Attend the November Application Seminar for an overview of the application process. 

   Start planning for the MCAT. Visit www.aamc.org and www.aacom.org.

   Get health care and community service experience over winter break. Read broadly! 

Nov-Jan MCAT review courses bagin (Kaplan, U of Oregon and Altius)

Attend Application Seminar. Meet with advisor Maureen Leong-Kee and your own Premedical Advisor to open your premedical file (deadline: June 16). Begin asking for letters of recommendation (due June 30). Research schools, review prerequisites, and work on personal statement.

Deadline to complete the Premed Committee application, which opens your Premed File.  Meet with your own Premedical Adivsor first to check in about your application readiness. Then meet with the coordinating advisor Maureen Leong-Kee for further discussion. Complete your Student Profile for Letters of Evaluation, complete your Pre-Medical File Intake web form, create a tentative list of schools, make a list of activities and have a draft of your personal statement to bring to the meeting with Maureen. Once you have the signatures on your required signature page (which you will get from your meeting with Maureen), then your premedical file is officially open. June (early) Earliest date to submit AMCAS or AACOMAS
Request ALL transcripts be sent to AMCAS or AACOMAS.

Due date for all letters of recommendation. It is your responsibility to monitor the status of your letters via your web link.

Your file must be complete at this time (see checklist).

July-Sept  Students receive secondary applications; Committee Letters uploaded for those students with complete files and MCAT scores; students need to keep in contact with advisor regarding letters.
July 15 Need to have submitted AMCAS/AACOMAS application by now- Really!!!

Sep 2017- Apr 2018 Students interview and receive offers of admission or rejection notices or, quite commonly, are put on hold for months.
Apr 30, 2018 Students will know if they have been accepted, rejected, or wait-listed, and after this date applicants may not hold more than one seat at a med school.

Note: It is in the applicant’s best interest to complete everything as early as possible.  

It really does make a difference to be early, especially this year when it is so competitive!  

Reapplicants must meet the same deadlines!
