Your connection to the College of Science inspires our students to tackle some of today's most pressing problems. It gives them the tools they need to succeed and flourish, personally, academically and professionally. Your contributions are visible everywhere – from the scholarships, programs and internships you support for our students to the international and research experiences that help them apply classroom learning to achieve their goals outside the classroom.
Our students look to you as an example of how to contribute in a meaningful way and become a leader in science. We welcome you to engage with our students and faculty – whether it's coming to campus for an event, sharing career advice with a student, presenting a talk about your career path in science or giving back through philanthropy. Your support is invaluable.
The College of Science is proud to publicly recognize and honor our alumni and friends for their distinguished personal and career accomplishments and for exemplary contributions to society that brought credit to the College and to Oregon State University and has made a lasting impact in our communities and our lives.

From Coos County and Corvallis to L.A. and the world, alumnus Michael Waterman (’64, ’66) has gone the distance to get where he is. From humble beginnings on an isolated livestock ranch in southern Oregon in the 1950s to becoming an internationally celebrated mathematician and biologist at the University of Southern California, Waterman has shattered all expectations.
