OMSI is excited to announce an upcoming Science Communication Seminar. These half-day or full day workshops are designed as professional development opportunities for STEM-based professionals and will highlight various aspects of communicating science in each seminar. They are a great opportunity to build your science communication skills while networking with other scientists, engineers, and professionals in the field. Our next two seminars, Developing Your Message and Data Visualization & Presentation will take place Saturday, November 18th. You may sign up for either seminar individually, or take both for a full-day experience. Tuition is $125 for each seminar, or $200 for the full day. Lunch will be provided for all full-day participants. Cost: $125 (discount available for active OMSI Science Communication Fellows).

The U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) will host the 2017 Chemical and Biological Defense Science & Technology (CBD S&T) Conference in Long Beach, Calif., Nov. 28-30, 2017.CBD S&T Conference attendees will join more than 1,500 of the most innovative and influential leaders in the chemical and biological defense community to learn about the latest basic and applied research conducted in specific chemical and biological defense areas, which are listed on the conference website.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is pleased to announce that it will offer an NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) Update Webinar for the research community. The PAPPG details NSF’s proposal preparation and submission guidelines, and provides guidance on managing and monitoring the award and administration of grants and cooperative agreements made by the Foundation. The webinar will provide an overview of significant changes and clarifications to the PAPPG that will take effect on January 29, 2018. There is no cost to participate, but registration is required.
