Standard Products

This page provides access to our ocean net primary production (NPP) Standard Products. At this time, Standard Products are based on the original description of the Vertically Generalized Production Model (VGPM) ( Behrenfeld & Falkowski 1997a), MODIS surface chlorophyll concentrations (Chl_sat), MODIS sea surface temperature data (SST), and SeaWiFS cloud-corrected incident daily photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Euphotic depths are calculated from Chl_sat following Morel and Berthon (1989). A description of the VGPM and model code can be found under the Custom Products page. VGPM estimates of NPP for the entire SeaWiFS chlorophyll record can also be found under the Custom Products page.
