Research Seminar (PH607)

During the winter quarter our department offers a “Research Seminar” for our first year grad students. The seminar fulfills two purposes:

  1. Discussion of research ethics (required by the NSF and other funding agencies). The discussion is based on reading materials available on www.citiprogram.org (see reading assignment #1 below). Each reading assignment is followed by a short online test - you must pass all the online tests to satisfy the graduate school requirement for ethics training.
  2. Introduction to PhD research topics that are available to our students. The discussion is lead by faculty members.
