Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation

The Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation is now soliciting applications for the scholarships to be given in 2019. (Applications are always accepted, but they are actively solicited throughout the fall and winter, with a deadline of Feb 15.) They will give away at least two scholarships this year, possibly more depending on fundraising. One will be designated for an undergraduate. Please encourage top students studying renewable energy, in any sense, in Oregon or Washington, to apply.

To qualify, the applicant must:

  1. Be an undergraduate or graduate student studying renewable energy (broadly construed) at any college or university in Oregon or Washington
  2. Confirm superior academic performance

Pursuant to these requirements, applicants must submit:

  • A paper (not to exceed 3 pages) detailing the interest, academic pursuits, and career goals directed towards the field of renewable energy. 
  • Resume and Academic transcripts (unofficial OK)
  • Two letters of recommendation, sent to RESF directly from the writer.

Applicants may also include information about any awards, internships or other distinctions which demonstrate accomplishments in renewable energy.

Two scholarships shall be awarded based upon academic merit, accomplishments in the field, and demonstrated interest; one is targeted at an undergraduate.  Click here for a full list of criteria the selection committee will use to determine the scholarship winners.  The scholarship is a cash award of $1500 with no strings attached.

DEADLINE for the application is February 15, 2019 (postmarked date); awards announced by March 15, 2019.
